ELAB, Inc.'s data processing system integrates the latest products from Microsoft and other vendors and is designed for stability, security and ease of use. A tight network security mask, coupled with the internal security of several applications, ensures the integrity, reliability and privacy of our clients' data. Hardware redundancy and a disaster recovery plan ensure stable operation, while a simple, graphical "user interface" permits authorized users easy access to information.
To deal with the large volume and array of samples and the complexity of the analyses performed, ELAB, Inc. employs a comprehensive Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), with customized modules for processing, tracking, and reporting data generated in the laboratories. The LIMS permits the laboratory to optimize workloads during peak times, enhances data-exchange, and facilitates process-enhancement.

The laboratory uses an integrated approach to all of its data as each of the instruments with electronic capabilities are linked to the centralized network and data is directly downloaded into the LIMS. Using this approach, each applicable data point for a result can be tracked electronically from anywhere in the laboratory. This advantage allows a Project Manager to provide a status on a Project on a real-time basis, which assists our Clients in making their strategic decisions.
As samples arrive at the laboratory, from the field or are delivered by our clients, sample IDs are automatically assigned. Each sample is monitored throughout the entire analytical process and all results are carefully validated. Electronic implementation of various Total Quality Management techniques enhances on-time performance and data quality. Internal reports concerned with work flow and process control ensure that laboratory activities are properly monitored and completed. Turnaround time is tracked and optimized, while customers' expectations are recorded, tracked and compared with final deliveries. Throughout, automation is utilized to track and enhance communication and process flow, while reducing and eliminating unnecessary expense. ELAB, Inc.'s LIMS reporting and EDD modules can be customized for various regulatory report formats and client-specific requirements. This flexibility greatly enhances our ability to meet the industrys ever-changing requirements and minimizes the probability of errors inherent in repetitive manual handling of large volumes of data.

With a high functioning LIMS, the laboratory provides its Clients a wide variety of Final Reports and is capable in meeting all of the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Programs (NELAP) regulatory reporting requirements. The LIMS enables the laboratory to provide its Clients with a report, which provides a complete picture of the data . A typical Final Report would provide not just the results but also a Case Narrative with any relevant information about the sample and a complete Quality Control report, which provides all applicable Batch QC information, which is relevant to the sample data reported. The centralized LIMS also is capable of reporting data in various State specific forms, including Floridas Drinking Water and Groundwater forms. In order to expedite reporting, the laboratory can provide Final Reports and Forms in electronic format via email.
